Blogspot banned in Turkey
- cnkt 16y agoIt's not a "news" for me. Because i live in Turkey. In our country Youtube is banned since 2008. And people got used to it. They were always like that: first month everybody says "this is not acceptable, i'm as mad as hell and i'm not gonna take this anymore" but after a couple of weeks everybody gets used to it. no problem. is youtube banned? yes. try facebook videos. it's like iran but nobody recognizes it. everything is banned or restricted but they are taking no action against governemnt. can't get alcohol, can't kiss girlfriend in a park or even hold her hand etc. but nobody complains about it.
- makmanalp 16y agoThis is absurd. As a Turkish citizen, I find the actions of my government regarding matters of the internet horrifying. As it stands, the process is as follows: 1) Receive complaint. 2) Shut down website. Usually through DNS ban, but some sites were ip-banned like youtube for a while. 3) Allow website again if complaint is made and is found legitimate (a process that takes a long time). What's worse is people don't get angry enough about it because they can use proxying websites like ktunnel.com and change their DNS servers and "it works anyway".
