I’m wondering how Apple got to this position in first place. How does a company that doesn’t specialize in CPU design, beat a company who specializes in CPU design; Intel??

- samfisher83 6y agoApple generates way more revenue than Intel so they have a lot of money to go hire people. They also don't need to invent the manufacturing process. Basically they need to come up with a good architecture and then use Eda tools to build out the chip.
- pavlov 6y agoApple acquired a well-funded CPU development startup called P.A. Semi in 2008.
