Is it as performant as technologies like Django / Ruby?
- heisenzombie 7y agoAs with anything benchmarking is hard and "performance" is not a 1 dimensional thing. That said, there are some ways in which Phoenix/LiveView is extremely "scalable". For example, pushing messages to 2 million simultaneous websocket connections: https://www.phoenixframework.org/blog/the-road-to-2-million-websocket-connections https://www.phoenixframework.org/blog/the-road-to-2-million-... ... and running on the BEAM gives all sorts of exciting horizontal scaling possibilities on top of that.
- dep_b 7y agoI think calculations are it's weak point, but for the typical message passing application like Twitter it's fast and incredibly scalable.
