So... you think Aphex Twin is a niche electronic music artist of the 90s and at the same time claim Taylor Swift and Beiber have "almost unparalleled influence". I mean... musical taste has its variations and I am cool with that but this is objectively an exaggeration.

In general, they’re niche. Their peak was in the 90s but they’re not of the 90s, I’m not trying to call them Sugar Ray. This is all in terms of listeners and quantity, not taste and quality, in line with Pitchfork’s target moving. And it’s definitely exaggerated, but mostly because Taylor Swift and Beiber were the slightly dated examples given. Nicely emblematic though.

  Aphex Twin is not a "they" and he's probably more prolific on a larger scale now than he ever was.
