AFAIK there aren't any current mobile devices that have native AV1 playback so this is all in-software for now?
Though if the goal is to allow for extremely low bitrate use it might not chew up too much of the processor and battery.
- skavi 6y agoI think MediaTek has put an encoder into their newer chips. Qualcomm still hasn’t though.
