WHO head warns worst of virus is still ahead
- 0xy 7y agoThe Director-General says "trust us", after they just spent 3 months repeating CCP propaganda and spreading misinformation on masks, travel bans and other measures. WHO stated on multiple occasions that the coronavirus had no human-to-human transmission, blindly trusting CCP sources while having zero access themselves. They also made moves to put China's enemies in serious danger, including by refusing access to data to Taiwan and ignoring Taiwan's warnings of the virus in December. Why should anyone trust this organization?
- ravenstine 7y agoI've been hearing people apologizing for them because of their past deeds, some of which were helping to eliminate infectious diseases worldwide. That's fallacious, however, because what the WHO once was doesn't mean the WHO of today is just like that. I'm personally inclined not to believe anything the WHO says, especially after their director said something about "more bodies in bags" if the United States defunds them, which comes off as either a mafioso style threat or a delusion of grandeur.

- paypalcust83 7y agoThe worst is ahead if people miscalibrate their habits based on threat fatigue, impatience, conspiracy theories, hype, and/or lies. Without a vaccine or 100% quarantining+contact tracing, the pandemic will restart after each lockdown and keep going until essentially everyone is infected. Roughly between 3-25% of NY state and 5-15% of Santa Clara county has/had it, and removing the lockdown will just make it spread like crazy. New cases would've stopped completely after 2 weeks if people obeyed the rules or lockdowns were enforced strictly and the infected were uniformly isolated.
