Hmm ... it's true that I generally hate code that I produced siz months ago but I consider that a sign that I'm improving. And "churning out nothing but garbage" ignores the fact that 80% of the cost of an application is in its maintenance. I actually enjoy maintenance engineering - removing vulnerabilities, simplifying functions and the like. There are definitely days when my LoC count is negative.
