I took the family on the Carnival Triumph years ago for a first-time cruise. It was okay and we had fun - but we had nothing to compare it to. A few years later we went on a Disney Cruise... we won't be going on Carnival ever again. We also noted that the Triumph was the ship that a few years ago had that engine fire that disabled power and left them adrift for days with toilets overflowing into cabins and no hot food available. Carnival cruises are cheap, but the risk of suffering a trip disaster - possibly with health consequences - is just not worth it.
