Orange County / Orlando is a company town because they own so much property (48+ sq mi / 12.5k+ hectares), employ so many people, and wield leviathan political power. They're like the LDS in Utah, but a corporate cult instead. They can get away with doing almost anything they want because they have the leverage. And, it's Florida: where human decency and common-sense are optional (illegal to feed the homeless, proven in court that ballots were destroyed in the 23rd to ensure DWS won, numerous for-profit prisons, corona spring-breakers).
