Ask HN: Why don't more people use Pelican over Jekyll?
I've been working on relaunching my personal site with a static site generator. I tried Jekyll--yikes. The theming steps seem awkward and not easy to maintain (especially if customized). Set up seems somewhat painful and unintuitive.
Then I tried Pelican. It seems much more sane, user-friendly, and easy to build, launch, and customize. And Jinja templating seems...better.
Am I missing something about Jekyll's popularity? I'm open to either one, but so far, Pelican feels far more mature and usable.
