With GPG, sure. I have GPG keys (for other reasons) which I never use for email. On the other hand, using S/MIME for email signing and encryption is a pleasure. At $JOB everyone get's an email cert via self-enrollment, user public certs go in AD, I can easily send encrypted email to anyone in our org.
