How does using nix on other distributions work? Can it access their local packagemanagers and install the distribution-packages, or is it a parallel world that just happens to live on the same machine?
- Shoue 7y agoIt's a parallel world. The other package managers are too imperative to deal with in a declarative manner and would just be painful, though there are attempts to do so (outside of Nix). Nix installs everything to /nix.
