I wonder how long it will take for compilers close that gap. I assume compilers will eventually produce assembly code that outperforms anything written by human.
- tcbawo 7y agoThese aren't necessarily the typical use cases that compiler writers are trying to optimize, either. So, compilers for general purpose languages may never close that gap.
