Microsoft is extending parental leave, not maternity/paternity leave. There is no country in the world that offers 12-24 months of a paid parental leave (in addition to the initial maternity/paternity leave).

- deusex_ 6y agoAnd even longer up to 3y if you are part time (Elterngeld Plus). Keeps you connected to your job but allows you to raise your kids.
- deusex_ 6y agoCzechia gives you options from 1-3y (fixed total cash amount, let's you choose speed). And employer must keep a job for you when you come back.
- hedwall 6y agoSweden has 480 days of paid parental leave.
