Very cool work, particularly important is the text quality improvements. Could you talk about the approach to improving text quality is? Are you implementing projected font hinting by any chance?
- kanetw 6y agoThe core issue with surface (text) quality is essentially that classic texture filtering fails for surfaces here. So we set a higher DPI than usual, and then use a supersampling algorithm with a suitable kernel as a lowpass filter. This allows us to avoid artifacts while maintaining sharpness.
