Look at the situation from a different perspective. Dozens of large dense cities with mass transportation-- Seoul, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore-- were able to contain the pandemic much more readily than New York.
The takeaway here is that given its density NYC should have taken measures to contain the spread of coronavirus much sooner. It definitely had the resources to do so.

- danielfoster 7y agoThe article is about the impact of a failure to practice social distancing in NYC versus LA. You brought up the issue of mass transportation, which I showed is not a relevant factor by bringing in external examples.
