- rmdashrfstar 6y agoSeriously. This arrogance of “I need the one true language that was perfectly designed from the start and never needs to change! If a new feature is added at all ever after initial release, it must mean the language is useless. Why don’t we all use Go? That’s the perfect language. It’s just like C.” Yawn. The borrow checker is a major leap forward, even if it’s from the 80s. And, with the incredibly expressive power and concise syntax Rust offers, it’s an incredibly compelling option. Plus, Rust has a guarantee of backwards compatibility.
- cryptonector 6y agoMicrosoft please!
- alvarelle 6y agoPersonally, I stick with K&R C. I haven't gotten around to update all my with function signatures. whats is the thing with putting (void) all over or specifying the return type of my functions? Really, these explicit function declaration are just code duplication that serious programmers don't need as they know their code. (/s)
- nwxonwxo 6y agoYou’re being sarcastic, I know, but you just unironically exactly described an entire decade or more of early C programming.
