> Can we also talk about CR vs LF Based on my understanding of the SMTP protocol, lines in emails should be terminated with CRLF. > HTML vs plain emails Thunderbird has a nice setting (View -> Message Body As -> Plain Text) that takes HTML emails and renders them as plain text (complete with the / /, * *, and _ _ for italicized, bold, and underlined text respectively). Personally, I wish they would remove support for rendering HTML in emails and just display plain text. URLs would have to be manually copied and pasted into a web browser. That would make phishing emails far less effective.
