Many years ago, my wife crashed our truck. The insurance guy took a look, estimated that it wasn’t a total loss, and directed the shop to fix it. Unfortunately, he missed several significant signs of expensive damage. The engine had to be replaced, the frame required more work, etc. etc. At the end of the process, GEICO bought us a very expensive new old truck.
