It's a fun and unique concept, but I think the general public greatly undervalues what it takes to write, record, and produce an even half-decent song. That's going to make it very difficult for you to present a price that makes sense to people. (What sort of price did you envision?)
Also, this is obviously not very scalable. I think the target market is tiny, though, so that is probably not a big deal.
- taphangum 16y agoBecause it is a very small market i would price it at about $1,000 for a song. So it would be a niche product, but also a luxury one.
- fooandbarify 16y agoSounds about right. I think it will be very hard to track down the market for this, though. Unlike commissioned visual art, these songs probably won't appreciate in value nor can they be hung out ad infinitum for the world to see. Good luck!
