Out of my pure curiosity for the mind of some HN commenters, why in the world would you go through the effort of writing such a detailed and pedantic comment focusing on a small irrelevant detail like that, about an hospitalized man who is expecting a child?
In case it’s not clear, I am not being snarky in any way and respect you, I just find your comment so out of touch that I genuinely wanted to understand the reasons for you writing it.
- ColinWright 7y agoAs fate would have it, I had been discussing a closely related issue with someone else, and the section from the wikipedia page was immediately to hand. In a sense, I was in "transfer information mode" and had the source material there in my editor and ready to go. So in response to a factually incorrect piece of text I dropped in the source material that served as a correction. <fx: shrug /> It happens to me that sometimes I'm focused on something to the extent that I don't always see the bigger picture. I don't wish the man harm, I do hope he makes a complete recovery.
