I (quixotically) rolled my own uptime monitor with curl and twilio's CLI, and then wrote a minimal jenkin's clone with a git hook, a little bit of bash, and systemd: github.com/cameron/push-to-systemd. My current project also involves learning elm and postgraphile, which is shaping up to be a wonderful stack.
