Is it possible to use Zoom on Linux from an ordinary user without sudo rights?
- nerdkid93 7y agoUse or install? I can run Zoom post installation without sudo.
- daffy 7y agoUse. The only way I'm willing to use it is from a dedicated user that has access to nothing else. I don't want it installed in the system.
- a-nikolaev 7y agoI just downloaded their binary build and it worked without sudo (you need to run "ZoomLauncher" file). That being said, I did not get the impression of an easy to use app that "just works" (at least with my tiling window manager), things were confusing, clunky and rather idiosyncratic (e.g. sharing a screen was weird, and the whiteboard did not work).
- daffy 7y agoDid you use it to talk to someone? I ran it too, but wanted to make sure it really works without being installed.
- a-nikolaev 7y agoYeah, I used it for calls, did not install anything.
