Because the Department of Education has a ton of currently unused high capacity kitchens and access to supplies. In addition the DOE runs similar programs, such as a free summer lunch for kids, and so has the organizational know-how to run a program of this scope.
- Junk_Collector 7y agoRight, it all makes sense, I'm just curious about the process and long term scope of the program. The official announcement that I am aware of is pretty spartan. It also shows the conflict of wanting to keep as many people employed/working as possible while also wanting to keep people quarantined.
