I think what happened in the OP is crazy and insensitive, but 45 days is ridiculous.
- pjc50 7y agoIt's a consultation period. The idea is that as much effort as possible should go into avoiding it, such as providing an opportunity for people to take voluntary redundancy, search for positions elsewhere in the company, and so on. While also making sure that people have been selected on a fair basis.
