I want this in an XPS 13 too. I just bought an XPS 13 last year, running Ubuntu, and it's very nice, aside from the whine when it's plugged in.

- chkass 7y agoI'd settle for an XPS 13 with 32GB of RAM :( 16GB is the current limit.
- MatekCopatek 7y agoNot with this year's model (XPS 13 9300) - 32 GB is now available.
- Arelius 7y agoYup, I have it, it's great!
- slaw 7y ago$199 motile m141 laptop - up to 32GB no coil whine and has matte screen.
- ComputerGuru 7y agoVery interesting! It has an AMD Ryzen 3 so maybe we can expect an update with an AMD 4000.
- wastedhours 7y agoThat looks really impressive - anyone know if they offer something similar in the UK? I know Walmart owns some brands here that it might be under (though think they sold some?)
- nchelluri 7y agoI would love to have one of these for a week or two to try it out. It's so cheap it might be worth picking up on the off chance I love it.
- lhl 7y agoHere's a pretty comprehensive review I wrote on it a few months back: https://randomfoo.net/2019/12/25/motile-m142-cheapo-linux-laptop-notes https://randomfoo.net/2019/12/25/motile-m142-cheapo-linux-la... It's surprisingly good as a cheap laptop, but as a daily driver, I'd just wait a month or so and get a 4000U thin and light at this point.
- nchelluri 7y agothank you! I'll give it a read.
- acidburnNSA 7y agoBeen eyeing that for a while but got a bit distracted by this beast if you're into linux: https://system76.com/laptops/lemur https://system76.com/laptops/lemur
