- cycrutchfield 7y agoSouth Korea handled it fine. They didn’t downplay it and claim it was no worse than the seasonal flu. When it’s your guy who fucked up, it’s interesting how all of a sudden it’s “this could have happened to anybody!”
- war1025 7y agoSouth Korea dealt with SARS 20 years ago. This was round two for them.
- save_ferris 7y agoThe administration made numerous statements early on that insinuated the virus wasn’t serious. Trump himself called it a hoax, said it was like the regular flu, etc. HEB, a Texas-based grocer, was talking to partners, running disaster scenarios, and preparing their supply chain as far back as January[0]. A private company was a month ahead of the administration despite all of the preliminary reporting and intelligence communications around the virus. There’s absolutely no excuse for the way the government bungled this. While Trump was calling the virus a hoax, companies were already preparing for what was to come. 0: https://www.texasmonthly.com/food/heb-prepared-coronavirus-pandemic/ https://www.texasmonthly.com/food/heb-prepared-coronavirus-p...
