Hands down: Papillon by Henri Charrière.
If you think you are going through a difficult period. If you don't know what resilience means. If you really want to change the way you see life. Read this book. Really.
- maremmano 7y agoHai wait. Did I mention that it is an autobiography?
- baconomatic 7y agoHow does the movie compare?
- maremmano 7y agoI think it is not possible to compare. The book is an epic experience and a teaching (that also takes time). The film is a good film. I saw it after reading the book. The effect is the same as reading Mario Puzo and after seeing the movie The Godfather (great movie but the book is another story)
- harshalizee 7y agoWasn't this book proven to be completely made up and the author was never actually in prison?
- maremmano 7y agoIn my opinion, even if it was invented in some parts, this does not detract from the great power of this book. Apart from this, I have read that some events have been invented and, it is said, but it is not proven, that some events have not happened to the protagonist but to his fellow prisoners. Even if it were true I would still suggest reading this great adventure.
