Unfortunately second hand smoke is just as bad as first hand smoke.
- rgbrgb 16y agoWhile as a non-smoker I totally understand the sentiment here, as a scientist, that claim seems kind of unfathomable.
- artmageddon 16y agoHow so? Numerous studies have shown that second-hand smoke is very harmful: http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancercauses/tobaccocancer/secondhand-smoke http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancercauses/tobaccocancer/seco... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passive_smoking http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passive_smoking http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/secondhand-smoke/CC00023 http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/secondhand-smoke/CC00023
- sophacles 16y agoIt's not the fact of risk, it is a question of level. Specifically, the statement "just as dangerous" is just not true. Dangerous yes. Equally so? No.
- wazoox 16y agoSecond-hand smoke outdoors? I don't think so :)
- artmageddon 16y agoHow is that implausible? If you kept your distance, fine...It's also fair to say that a person won't inhale as much smoke since it isn't as contained as it would be indoors, but if you're standing downwind from it or if it wafts in your direction, there will definitely be inhalation.
