Obviously the one clear course of action is to leave your current company. You hate it there, and it isn't taking you where you want to go.
If you're talented, you won't have any trouble finding work in SF. You could take a small amount of your savings and 'move' to SF for a couple weeks. Make sure you like it, and work the networks to find a job.
If you're going to go on your own, definitely apply to YC.
