- acidburnNSA 7y agoIn Jitsi there's a cool push to talk feature where you hold down the space bar to unmute and when you let go it mutes again.
- goatherders 7y agoWhat a great idea. Would love to see this in Zoom or Hangouts
- torgoguys 7y agoZoom has this available to turn on in options (on the Windows client at least).
- allannienhuis 7y agoisn't that the default behaviour when you're muted? pushing the spacebar unmutes until you let go. Is the option for turning that feature OFF?
- torgoguys 7y agoThere is, at least in Windows. Advanced options screen.
- SkyPuncher 7y agoIt's available on Mac as well. I use it as my default.
- RexM 7y agoI can still hear the sound that ventrillo would make when using push-to-talk while playing World of Warcraft.
- tj-teej 7y agoWell that's a software/user solution to a hardware problem. If you have a quality headset/microphone you can be unmuted for a whole meeting, people collectively making noises (Ahh, or Ohh) are important ways of communicating information that are lost if everyone is muted until they have a comment to make.
- SkyPuncher 7y agoI specifically buy headsets with some sort of physical muting capability. I prefer a boom raise, but a button works too. It's nice to have a physical safety layer.
