If you're concerned about an extra dozen eggs you shouldn't be shopping wholesale. Eggs don't go bad or spoil after a certain date. They dry up over time, but not in a few weeks. I can't imagine anyone being in a situation where they need 4 dozen eggs for a few weeks, but none after that.
