The vast majority of links are just to metastudies and literature reviews. If you think the Cochrane review studies or whatever are fear-driven misinformation then you should complain to them for creating them, not me for posting them.
Literally today Trump put out a statement saying that he's considering just sending everyone back to work and letting everyone get it all at once.[1] If that happens then the medical system basically won't even exist for 90% of people. What exactly do you propose that people should do in that scenario, just sit around drinking Gatorade and waiting to die?

- throwanem 7y agoYou know what? Fuck you. Yeah, I know that's outside the HN civility rules, and I've been trying to be the better person in all this, but I've got three degrees of fever since this morning, and I'm starting to cough, and all my joints ache and my head aches and I can't eat and I feel like dogshit, like I've got a bad flu that's trying to crawl down into my chest, and I am all out of patience with people like you. I haven't been tested and I don't expect to be unless I end up in the hospital, because my state doesn't have nearly enough to go around, but the symptoms check out for COVID-19, and you know what? I hope that's exactly what this is. I hope that a lot. Because I live alone, and I can self-isolate without a problem, just as I've been doing for a couple weeks now, if this is COVID-19 that I've got. And I'm young enough and healthy enough that I'm not going to die of it, if it is. And if it is, then the antibodies I'm brewing up right now, if we start doing serum transfusions as a temporary measure, are the same ones I'll take with me when I go volunteer to donate as much plasma as they'll let me give. Because - much more than just staying home and not coughing on people - that's something real I can do to fight this thing. Something I can do to help sick people get well, or help healthy people stay that way. Something I can do that counts. So, yeah. I hope I've got it. Because odds are I'll get it sooner or later, and sooner means a better chance to have some good come out of it. What the hell are you doing?
