Honestly, I think they should quarantine packages after every handling 24 hours. When picked up it stays in pickup truck 1 day to let virus inactivate. Then one guy does the initial sorting and no one handles it for 24 hours. It would make deliveries much much slower, but put the delivery personnel at much less risk.
- ruffrey 7y agoAn interesting idea, though doubtful it would get implemented due to the huge backlog of personal items already late. Not a bad idea as a consumer - if you can swing it, just let the packages sit a day before opening them. Hopefully folks doing deliveries are smart about not touching their face, and are able to wipe down their cars afterward...steering wheel, radio knobs, touchscreens, phone, door handles...
