Apparently this hardware identifier is used to be able to comply with gdpr data deletion requests.
- gentleman11 7y agoNonsense. You have to track people in order to know that you are not tracking some people?
- piinthesky 7y agoGDPR data does not have to be deleted if its used for law enforcement or scientific research, so someone like MS can claim the data is kept for AI research, just like Google or Facebook or practically any other company.
