DOJ Wants to Suspend Certain Constitutional Rights During Coronavirus Emergency
- olliej 7y agoDOJ always wants to get rid of constitutional rights - encryption, right to attorney, right to a fair trial (it applies those two to "terrorists"), it also supports police performing unconstitutional searches, civil forfeiture (e.g. theft), etc, etc. Police and the DOJ will always hate constitutional restrictions on their powers, because they see Americans as the enemy.
- averros 7y agoAnybody is surprised? Well... the members of the cult of Government Almighty which holds as the article of faith that getting a government job transforms mere corruptible mortals into perfect angels (so these can be trusted to do violence to the mere mortals when the angels consider it expeditious) could be surprised to learn that people are still people and thus will always find ways to abuse power.
