I've been wondering this myself. Every nerd, hacker, and maker space are talking about 3d printing our way out of this mess, but I've used a 3d printer before. They're not quick. It's pretty easy to build a diy injection molder. Why aren't the hobbiests with cnc lathes and mills making molds and sending them to the hobbiests without?
