I was also uninterested in one until we were given one. I immediately found it useful for presentations and speeches and for use in the classroom when I am teaching. I like it for note taking, reading and browsing as well. However, I still do the work of creating and editing my slides, lectures and development work on a laptop. The real-estate and windowed workflow are probably the main differences that make the laptop more powerful for certain tasks, but I also think it puts me in a different mindset.
