I just switched to Linux on an lightly used LG gram after being on Mac for 10 years. $1300, 1TB nvme, 24gb ram, 15" edgeless screen, weighs less than 3lbs, and charger is lighter. Also has a full touch screen. Do I miss retina display? Yes, although I get just as much on screen since it's 15". Would I go back for 2x the price? No way.
- wayneftw 7y agoWhat distribution and desktop environment are you running? I switched to Manjaro with XFCE almost 2 years ago and it's been a joy to setup and use coming from Mac/Windows. As a matter of fact - setting up a Manjaro workstation is actually way less hassle than I've ever had with Mac or Windows. I don't have to fight against the OS to do what I need to.
