- ilyagr 7y agoI wonder what kind of compensation from the company and the government the laid-of employees are entitled to. It's Scandinavia after all. I don't know enough to say they'll be fine, but there's a chance it's not as bad as it sounds.
- nattmat 7y ago20 days of full pay during the temporary lay-off. Then unemployment benefits for up to two years with 62% of full salary (cut off at about 30000 NOK per month)
- sushikokk 7y agoThe ones employed in Norway: full pay first 20 days, then 80% to 62,4% depending on salary. Company only pays the first 2 days, the government the rest.
- oreoftw 7y agoIMO it was good for its price. Who else would sell you USA <> EU for $300 for a two way ticket?
- dewey 7y agoWow Air, until they went out of business. But it was supposed to come back this year, in light of recent events probably not any more.
- s_dev 7y agoIt's not like those savings weren't passed on to consumers. I recall buying a flight from Dublin to New York for €200 with Norwegian.
- asdfasgasdgasdg 7y agoIf you don't want to fly on a nickel and dime airline, don't buy tickets at nickel and dime prices.
- cplanas 7y agoReally? In my experience, they were the best "cheap" airline, by far. Their airplanes were pretty comfortable, compared to United, Alaska, or Spirit, to name a few.
- capableweb 7y agoTo be fair, comparing most european airlines seems good when you compare them to US airlines. Would be more fair to compare them to other european airlines.
- cplanas 7y agoThe most famous "cheap" European airline, RyanAir, is substantially worse than Norwegian. And personally I find Norwegian better than WizzAir, easyJet or Vueling.
- alexpotato 7y ago+1 I flew their Premium Economy internationally and it was similar to US domestic first class.
- mihaaly 7y agoWorst?! This is way inaccurate, I can count several worse ones beyond the absolute champion of all crappy airlines, the Ryanair.
- thorwasdfasdf 7y agonickel and diming is good because it gives you the option to choose what you want to pay for, rather than, just paying for everything whether or not you use it.
