- yjftsjthsd-h 7y agoAnd ESR warned us of that. Although I can understand that signal getting lost in the noise that is ESR's writing, unfortunately.
- djsumdog 7y agoI had to look that up. ESR is Eric Steven Raymond.
- catalogia 7y agoBoth ESR and RMS have warned against such "ethical" licenses. https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/programs-must-not-limit-freedom-to-run.html https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/programs-must-not-limit-freed... Bruce Perens has as well: https://perens.com/2019/10/12/invasion-of-the-ethical-licenses/ https://perens.com/2019/10/12/invasion-of-the-ethical-licens...
- tbyehl 7y agoYou hardly need to read between the lines to understand why ESR is terrified of codes of conduct. Or you can find that DF story where ESR's creepiness towards women was misattributed to RMS.
