This "prep work" is selfish and irresponsible. Supermarkets / grocery stores are not closing. There are no floods or storms or nuclear bombs falling, preventing people to go to supermarkets. If many paranoid people start "prepping", they empty out essential stuff from the shelves. Then an older, poorer person, who is out of TP / canned food / etc. goes to the store and finds nothing there. That's honestly saddening. This is a matter of altruism. Western countries, especially America, is thinking selfishly. I like capitalism, but this is a bad aspect of it.
