Artificial scarcity of hospital beds due to certificates of need
I wish they would repeal this requirement. Also if they’d loosen up the regulations against doctors owning hospitals, you would have a lot more to serve the public during these kinds of outbreaks. With limited capacity our current system just turns away people during a spike in demand.
- brudgers 7y agoIn the US, hospitals have been reducing bed count for decades due to insurance company's increasing unwillingness to cover hospital stays and the resulting move to out patient surgery. It's not a result of regulation.
