To anyone either naive or cynical about global governance and wondering why we don't all cooperate, I recommend this book: "Governing the World: The History of an Idea, 1815 to Present" by Mark Mazower https://books.google.com/books/about/Governing_the_World.html?id=6-GAmwEACAAJ https://books.google.com/books/about/Governing_the_World.htm... These behaviors are not new. The attitude the current American administration has towards the idea of global governance is an old attitude, and will prevent cooperation. This will not be the last time you see something similar in the news, and there will be no change unless the administration fundamentally changes its beliefs (read: the administration changes).
