This is why I pat myself on the back for deciding 15 years ago to stop breaking my brain against cplusplus and learn Python. Do I miss the challenges and rewards of working at the lowest level of the stack? A little bit. But it's more than made up for by the fact that I can produce code that's workable, readable, and extensible, and can mature and grow more powerful in months rather than years. Of course, I now stand on the shoulders of the people who build tools like numpy and tensorflow. I have great respect for those who continue to wrestle with these demons, but I just had to tap out.
