- jimbob45 7y agoEveryone using cell signals takes up that much bandwidth that could otherwise be used for emergency personnel - I'm not saying not to use cell towers, I'm just saying that if you could choose between the two with no penalty on either, wi-fi would be preferable. Also I would think it's far cheaper energy-wise to transmit the signal from my living room to my study rather than beaming the signal from a cell tower miles away. I could be wrong.
