Anyone with actual knowledge know the state of ACE2 inhibitor and chloroquinine efficacy?
- Alex3917 7y agoNo actual knowledge, but apparently the way Coronaviruses kill your lung cells is by inhibiting their ACE2 receptors, so I doubt taking an additional ACE2 inhibitor would be helpful. - dogma1138 7y agoCoronavirus destroys the ACE2 receptors as well as well kills the cell. If you have an ACE2 receptor inhibitors that do not damage the cell it would be quite helpful as they would prevent infection while only temporarily disrupting RAS function. P.S. stephen harrod buhner is a herbal “medicine” quack so stop posting his nonsense. I swear contagion should win an Oscar for being dead on the money. Preferably a new category “called it”.

- dogma1138 7y agoYou mean besides the fact that they recommend taking herbs and hoping for the best? Ironically they recommend ACE2 inhibitors which was one of the primary treatment protocols explored with SARD just form unproven herbal “remedies”.
- anonuser123456 7y agoWell, the Chinese claim chloroquine is effective in domestic RCT. And since China seems to be light years ahead of CDC/FDA, I'm inclined to believe them.
- fourstar 7y agoWhat a dangerous line of thinking you have.
- anonuser123456 7y agoI can't tell. Is this /s? Why should I distrust an Chinese RCT over an RCT the US hasn't even bothered to consider?

- devy 7y agoHere is a paper from clinicians: "Breakthrough: Chloroquine phosphate has shown apparent efficacy in treatment of COVID-19 associated pneumonia in clinical studies." What China did there was they spent huge effort to find possible cures from existing drugs in the entire drug database known to mankind, herbal medicines included. Safety is kind of validated because it's known drug, the dosage might be different but I am sure some were tested with high dosages too. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32074550 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32074550
