Seems like the only reason Twitter created verified users was because they got sued by Tony LaRussa for his account being impersonated. What I'm wondering is when there will be a class-action lawsuit on behalf of all the everyday people who have had their accounts impersonated? I hope it doesn't have to happen that way, I hope Twitter gives everyone the option to verify their profile, and yet I haven't seen much progress on this front since 2016 when I started looking at it.
