Lots of great suggestions here - let me add a good set of noise cancelling headphones and a Spotify Premium subscription (or your vendor of choice). Maybe music isn't your thing - a great alternative is 'Spa Type' music or some kind of meditation oriented track. The point of any of this is to eliminate outside distractions (street noises, building noises, people noises, etc). Personally I like the Beats Studio 3's myself. Noise cancelling at a price point thats not totally insane. The Point here is not necessarily music but the ability to stop hearing the rest of the world - even when no music is playing. Think of them as fancy electronic ear plugs that can play music if you so desire.
