Churches can (and should, voluntarily) continue to operate without meeting in person. Many already stream their services online for the convenience of any members who can't be there due to sickness, travel, etc.
- intopieces 7y agoIn the US, there is precedent against the government telling churches what rituals they can and cannot perform. See: Church of Lukumi Babalu Aye, Inc. v. City of Hialeah (1993) [0]. I would not bank on the constitutionality the government telling Christians that they can't gather / must stream. Sure, they "should," but I doubt the government will go so far as to demand it through banning gathers >250. [0]https://www.oyez.org/cases/1992/91-948 https://www.oyez.org/cases/1992/91-948
